The Acts 1:8 Housing Mission

Children are God’s gift and the hope of our future. However, they are also prone to abuse and neglect, and at times, removal from their home is necessary so they are protected. Acts 1:8 Housing is a non-profit organization based in Cincinnati, Ohio, providing shelter, support, and help for children both boys and girls, when they have nowhere else to go. We specialize in kids who are leaving the group home and making the important transition back into a healthy family. As a group home, we provide these children with a home-like setting, allowing them to experience love and care that they may not receive from their own families. We are also a faith-based group home, integrating spiritual guidance in our programs. More than just a home, we also provide these kids with education and teachings, allowing them to build the skills needed to help them deal with reality once they leave the home. We teach self-sufficiency, better decision-making skills, social skills, and develop their confidence and self-esteem. We do not only provide them shelter, food, and basic needs, but we strive to develop them into purposeful, independent, and productive individuals ready to face society once they leave our doors. Acts 1:8 Housing operates primarily with the help of volunteers and generous donors. We constantly hold fundraising events and donation drives so we are able to operate and continue with our mission in helping kids in the foster care system. We believe that when kids are well-taken cared of, have the support they need, and their self-worth built up, they can lead a life that’s more fulfilling and headed in the right direction.
